Infant Learning Environment Assessment Scale® – Revised (ITERS-R)

Product description

The Pacific Association for Early Childhood Education Research (Hong Kong Chapter) has been granted worldwide Chinese language rights to ECERS-R 2005, ITERS-R 2006, and ECERS-E 2010 by Teachers College Press. The currently available Chinese version of the assessment scales includes the latest information and annotations prepared by the authors. ECERS-R, ECERS-E, and ITERS-R Early Childhood Learning Environment Assessment Scales® – Revised Edition (ECERS-R) are used to assess the learning environments provided by different early childhood centers for children aged two and a half to five years. The Infant Learning Environment Assessment Scales® – Revised Edition (ITERS-R) is its infant version, designed specifically for children aged zero to two and a half years. Both scales contain a comprehensive set of statements, or "indicators" described in the scales, to assess different aspects of early childhood learning environments. These indicators showcase the strengths of the assessed environment, highlight areas for improvement, and provide a thorough assessment methodology to facilitate gradual quality improvement: Space and Facilities, Personal Daily Care, Language – Reasoning, Activities, Interaction, Curriculum Structure, Parents and Teachers. ECERS-R and ITERS-R were developed by Thelma Harms, Richard Clifford, and Debby Cryer at the University of North Carolina. The Early Childhood Learning Environment Assessment® – Curriculum Update (ECERS-E), designed by Kathy Sylva, Iram Siraj-Blatchford, and Brenda Taggart, is part of the EPPE research project. ECERS-E offers four sections to explore educational practices in greater depth: Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Environment, and Diversity.
